Toubkal in Morocco,
Toubkal summit is the
highest peak in North Africa with an altitude of 4167m. Many options
of trekking trips can be organized in the massive, but most of the
trekkers prefer to do the trip in 3 or four days and to reach the
top which is a challenge.
On the picture we see two refuges, Neltner refuge which is
older than the other one called refuge des mouflons. And to
the top the mountain pass tizi-n-Tadat (3610m).
Tadat means in Berber language (little finger).
Toubkal summit (4167m). Usually we
start our hike early in order to reach the top before middy.
Sometimes the weather changes in the afternoon and walking
down becomes dangerous.
Program of the trip:
- Day 1: Transfer to Imlil where we meet our
muleteers who will be charged to transport our luggage and food. We start
our walk from Imlil and we go up to the refuge Neltner 3207m, 1h30mn drive
and about 5 hours walk. First night in the refuge.
-Today we get up early and we walk to Toubkal
summit, 3 to 4 hours up, and 2 hours down back to the refuge, second night
in the refuge.
- After breakfast we walk down to Imlil, than to
Marrakech. 4 hours walk,
